The NHS Minor Ailment Service is available at our pharmacy for children, people aged 60 or over, people who hold a medical exemption certificate, and people on certain benefits. If you are exempt from paying prescription charges, you don't have to pay for the medicine.
Minor illnesses are conditions that can be self-treated or are uncomplicated, and don't require further investigation. For example, colds and influenza can be treated by taking paracetamol for fever or aching, and drinking plenty of fluids.
We can supply medicines for common ailments to you on the NHS without you having to make an appointment to see your GP. Our pharmacist can save you a trip to the doctor for common ailments like coughs and colds, headlice, headache, diarrhoea, hayfever, indigestion, thrush, sore throat, haemorrhoids, constipation, threadworm, athletes foot, mouth ulcers, insect bites and nappy rash.
